What Are Community Storm Shelters?

Concrete Community (meaning for over 16 occupants) Storm Shelters in Alabama are perfect for businesses, schools, daycares, trailer parks, hospitals, small towns, neighborhood associations and other organizations with responsibilities for public safety.

The advantage of having a concrete community storm shelter in areas away from home is for people to seek shelter while at work, school, shopping or travelling during an extreme weather event.

Each concrete community storm shelter can be built to hold from 15 to 300 people with the ability to add on more where needed. All above ground concrete community storm shelters are handicap accessible. Electricity, bathrooms and many other amenities can be added on.

Sizes vary according to how many people need protection. We basically add on each 7x13 unit to make it as long or as wide as needed.

6’ reinforced concrete poured as one unit.
#4 rebar cage
5000 PSI
Reinforced, inward opening steel door.
Conduit for electrical wiring inside.
Protected air vents
Bathrooms can be added

Fully compliant with FEMA P360 and ICC-500, tested, engineered and rated for up to EF-5 tornados.

Concrete Above Ground Installation

These community shelters are pre built at the factory and assembled on site. They can be placed on a slab or on a bed of gravel. They have 8” floors, so no need for a slab. Our crews will deliver and set up on site using cranes.
